Cheers to our Volunteers! Emily Power is our Volunteer of the Quarter!

Emily Power’s contagious energy and warm smile have been an integral part of our PFLAG chapter from the very beginning. In fact, she was an original Mama Bear even before we founded our PFLAG chapter. Emily has supported the chapter in many ways. She is one of our trained facilitators, helping us keep support group circles on track, and her curiosity and warmth means she’s a great ambassador for PFLAG, both in reaching out to educational speakers for our support group meetings and as part of our public speakers’ bureau.

"PFLAG South Bay is so near and dear to my ❤️! First of all I get to meet the most awesome and supportive parents and feel so lucky to be a small part in this truly remarkable organization. I love being a facilitator and have loved making suggestions about speakers that I admire and find inspirational. I find that at every meeting I am in awe of the strength, courage and unconditional love I get to witness. I leave our meetings feeling hopeful for the future of our community and my transgender child who brightens my world everyday, she has led me to this beautiful community for which I am so grateful!
