Navigating Our Children’s Queerness: A workshop for parents of LGBTQIA folks

In this workshop, parents will learn the tools to navigate the stormy waters they find themselves in when their child comes out. We dive into the complex range of emotions we have, look at some of their origins, and discuss how being present to and compassionate towards our own experience of this situation is vital as we parent our LGBTQIA child. 

Presented By: Sarah (or S.) Hultquist, MS (they/them/theirs) is a compassionate and LGBTQIA-affirming therapist at Open Door Center for Integrative Healing in Santa Ana. They previously worked at The LGBTQ Center OC seeing couples, families, and a wide range of queer clients of all ages. S.’s thesis on how therapists can work compassionately and effectively with the parents of LGBTQIA teens is now a workshop on how parents can attend to their own complex experience of their child coming out.
